Sales & Marketing Executive

Part-time (3-4 days a week), hybrid working

An exciting opportunity to join a leading games industry tech start-up as a B2B sales and marketing executive and help drive the growth of a global business.

Mercuna develops cutting-edge AI navigation software that enables game studios to easily build advanced AI that can navigate around their virtual worlds. Mercuna’s software has been used by some of the largest games companies in the world in their AAA titles.

The role will be split between leading Mercuna’s sales efforts, alongside running and coordinating the company’s digital marketing activities. As our sales tend to be very technical you will work closely with the development team during both sales activities and when creating new marketing material. The role will require being closely involved in the games development industry and a knowledge of the main industry players and the games they are developing, particularly recent releases, will be essential.

Duties include:

  • Gain a thorough knowledge of the company offering and the market we operate within, in order to have valuable conversations with prospects
  • Perform regular outreach to prospective clients, initiating business relationships and generating an interest in the company’s products
  • Maintain strong communication with potential clients, understanding and identifying their needs and responding to them with our solutions
  • Ensure all sales enquiries and ongoing campaigns are captured in our CRM system, and responded to in a timely manner
  • Travel to international conferences to represent the company and undertake sales meetings
  • Manage marketing campaigns and assist in creating company marketing material to promote the company’s products
  • Forming connections and promoting the company within the Scottish tech and start-up community

This is a 3-4 day a week, part time position, with the option for hybrid working.


The ideal candidate will be someone who has worked in B2B sales and marketing, and has knowledge of the games industry. You should have excellent communication skills and be passionate about computer games.


  • Experience/knowledge of B2B sales and marketing
  • Passion for and knowledge of computer games
  • Excellent communication skills both written and spoken
  • Interest in the technical aspects of game development


  • Experience working within the games industry
  • Experience/knowledge of marketing channels, including Google Ads, SEO, Twitter and website design
  • Experience of CRM systems such as HubSpot
  • Experience running marketing campaigns including the organisation’s social media accounts
  • Located in/near Edinburgh
